Charlene Blackburn, 72, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 surrounded by family, after a long illness. She was born in Clarksburg, on September 6, 1944 to the late Josephine Chiero.
Surviving is her only son, John Blackburn and Maggie Cain, who took care of her the last year. Charlene is also survived by her two grandsons: Josh Blackburn and Zach Cain; two great-grandchildren: Jaxon Blackburn and Claire Mullen all of Clarksburg; one brother John (Marilyn) Chiero of California; Mary “Lene” Chiero of Clarksburg; and Sandy (Allen) Malcomb of Clarksburg; eight nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Charlene retired from Robinson Run Coal Mine, and was a proud member of UMWA Local 1501. The family would like to extend a thank you to United Taxi Cab and the Gallo family.
Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home 329 E. Main Street Clarksburg, WV, on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 4 until 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the funeral home at 11am. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
