Obituary for Nolan K. Wilson

Nolan Kyle Wilson, 79, of Clarksburg, WV (Northview Community), passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017. He was born on November 27, 1937 in Ritchie County, a son of the late Edgar Kyle Wilson.

Nolan is survived by his three children: Michael N. Wilson and wife Judy of Georgetown, KY, Patrick C. Wilson and wife Lisa of Northview, and Barbara Sue “Liam” Wilson also of Northview; two grandchildren: Jonathan Wilson and wife Erikka of Stonewood, and Danielle Wilson of Northview; one great-grandchild, Monica Elyse Wilson; one brother, Danny Wilson and wife Pat of Morgantown; one sister, Janet S. Shackleford and husband Michael of Martinsburg; and his former wife Kimberly Pitman Wilson of Clarksburg.

In addition to his father Nolan was preceded in death by his step-mother, Helen Martini Wilson; his first wife, Nila Sharon Wilson on September 11, 1991; and four siblings: Holmes, Bill, O’Neil, and Sandra Jean.

Nolan was a graduate of Bridgeport High School Class of 1955, and was proud to be part of the winning team that took home the state football championship that year. He was a machinist at Anchor Hocking, then a maintenance supervisor with DuPont, and later retired from Louie Glass in Weston. Nolan led a very active life taking trips and hunting at the family cabin on Goose Creek, going canoeing, riding motorcycles, playing softball, bowling, Land Rover rides at Canaan Valley, and loved to fish.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Angie Jones for her special care given to Nolan over the last several years.

Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home 329 E. Main Street Clarksburg, WV, on Monday, March 20, 2017 from 4 until 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
